Senior Officer – Logistics

Context and scope of the position:

As part of its activities, the firm Esa Recrutement & Interim recruits on behalf of one of its clients a logistic Manager.

Mission (Position Purpose) :

The purpose of this role is to manage all shipping & transportation. The position will be responsible for identifying & developing related vendors, ports & clearances & ensure delivery as per budgets & timelines.

Missions and Responsibilities :

Strategic Responsibilities:

• Assist on setting up logistics related policies, compliance and procedures;
• Monitor & control annual logistics budget.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Lead and monitor contract performance and take appropriate corrective actions when needed;
• Coordinate with various external agencies to achieve cost-effective transport solutions;
• Maintain data & prepare reports on logistics to facilitate decision-making;
• Own & develop long-term partnerships with ports & transporters, perform supplier audit periodically;
• Support on all system audits and compliance requirements.

Financial Responsibilities:

• Negotiate rate contracts with suppliers and service levels are maintained and optimized;
• To ensure payment terms are managed and optimized in favor of the company resulting in budgeted cash flows.

People Responsibilities:

• Manage team of logistic assistants & contractual staff as required

The responsibilities mentioned above are not exhaustive and may be expanded from time to time.

Formation:

• Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Production, Chemical, Material)
• M.B.A (Operations/ Material Management)

Experiences:

• 8-9 years in logistics management
• Experience in process/ manufacturing industries.

Technical Skills:

• Port & logistics process
• Vendor development

Language skills:

Be bilingual

• French: Excellent (Written and oral)
• English: Excellent (Witten and oral)
